Within Our Church
Communion Visitation: Lay persons who are instructed on how to serve communion, bring communion elements to members who are not able to attend church services on a regular basis.
College Care Ministry: Scholarships are provided for those students enrolled in college. Twice each school year ‘care packages’ with treats and messages donated by the congregation are sent to those at college.
Together in Jesus Christ we are freed by grace to live faithfully, witness boldly and serve joyfully.
Within Our Community
Food Pantry: Donations of food and money benefit the hungry who come to our door or seek help from three local area pantries.
Pool Passes: For families who are unable to afford to make use of the pool during the summer.
Within the Chicago Area and Beyond
School Supplies: For children in local school districts and the Rosebud Indian Reservation in South Dakota.
Fellowship with our sister congregation, La Trindad: Monthly help with meal preparation for a community day of fellowship, and gifts of Thanksgiving turkeys.
Christmas Gifts: Gifts for children at local school districts and our sister congregation La Trinidad
Souper Bowl of Caring: On Super Bowl Sunday each year, Grace Youth collect nonperishable food and monetary donations to help combat the fight against hunger.
Refugee Ministry: We partner with RefugeeOne to welcome refugees to Chicago and meet with them weekly to mentor them and help them learn English and otherwise acclimate to life in the United States.
Worldwide
Mall-ternative Gifts: As an alternative to shopping for gifts at the mall, donations to ELCA ministries provide gifts of livestock, medicine and basic needs for people in areas of the world suffering from economic, social or natural challenges.
Feed my Starving Children: Pack food supplies for children affected by hunger in economically challenged countries.
ELCA World Hunger: A ministry with many national and international ties to aid those suffering from hunger in the U.S. and around the globe.
ELCA Disaster Response: Assists those affected by domestic or international disasters with immediate response and long-term commitment.
